The Cashier plays a vital role in providing excellent customer service at the point of sale. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Process Transactions

    Efficiently handle customer transactions, including cash, credit, and debit payments. Ensure accurate processing and recording of all transactions in the point-of-sale system.

  • Customer Assistance

    Proactively assist customers by addressing queries, providing information about products and services, and resolving any issues or complaints to enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Maintain Work Area

    Keep the cashier area clean and organized, restocking supplies as needed and ensuring promotional materials are displayed prominently and according to guidelines.

  • Scan and Bag Items

    Accurately scan merchandise, ensure correct pricing, and handle items with care while efficiently bagging the products to maintain a steady flow at the checkout.

  • Monitor Cash Drawer

    Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift, reporting any discrepancies to management immediately and maintaining accurate money handling procedures.

  • Support Stock Management

    Assist with restocking shelves and updating displays during downtime, coordinating with the stock team to ensure inventory accuracy and availability of products.

  • Follow Security Protocols

    Adhere to all safety and security measures during transactions, including verification of identification for restricted items and awareness of potential fraudulent activities.

  • Proven experience as a cashier or in a similar customer service role
  • Basic math skills and familiarity with cash registers and payment processing systems
