Roles & Responsibilities

  • Equipment Operation

    Safely operate heavy machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, and cranes for construction, infrastructure, or mining projects, following all safety protocols and operational guidelines.

  • Routine Maintenance

    Conduct daily and scheduled maintenance checks on equipment, including oil and fluid level checks, tire inspections, and reporting any necessary repairs to supervisors promptly.

  • Site Coordination

    Collaborate with construction site managers to understand worksite requirements, ensuring equipment is utilized effectively and in sequence with other site activities to maximize efficiency.

  • Safety Compliance

    Adhere to all occupational health and safety regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and attending safety briefings to mitigate accident risks on-site.

  • Load Management

    Skillfully manage and move heavy loads according to project specifications, utilizing equipment capabilities and load-handling attachments while avoiding overloading and structural hazards.

  • Documentation and Records

    Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage, maintenance records, and any incidences involving machinery, providing reports to supervisors to ensure transparency and accountability.

  • Equipment Training

    Provide guidance and basic operational training to new equipment operators, sharing best practices and safety tips to ensure consistency and safety across the operating team.

Typical Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience operating heavy machinery in a construction environment
  • Valid Heavy Equipment Operator certification and relevant safety training
