Roles & Responsibilities

• Water Resource Planning

  Develop and implement comprehensive water resource management plans that address water scarcity, distribution needs, and sustainability goals, ensuring alignment with local, state, and federal regulations.

• Hydrological Data Analysis

  Collect and interpret hydrological data using statistical and modeling tools to determine trends, forecast water availability, and assess environmental impacts on water resources.

• Sustainability Initiatives

  Design and advocate for sustainable water management practices that promote conservation, improve water quality, and support ecosystem health within the community or project scope.

• Regulatory Compliance

  Ensure that all water resource projects comply with relevant environmental laws and policies, preparing necessary documentation and reports to secure permits and approvals.

• Stakeholder Collaboration

  Engage with stakeholders, including government agencies, communities, and private sector partners, to gather input, share findings, and build consensus around water management strategies.

• Risk Assessment

  Conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats to water resources due to climatic changes, pollution, or overuse and propose mitigation strategies to minimize impact.

• Project Management

  Lead and oversee water resource projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, monitoring project milestones, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Typical Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Hydrology, or a related field

• 3+ years of experience in water resource management or related environmental field

• Proficiency in water quality analysis and management software

• Strong understanding of federal and state water regulations

• Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement and reporting
