Role Overview

As a Pharmacy Technician, you play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of medication to patients.   • Medication Dispensation

    Accurately dispense prescription medications to patients, ensuring correct dosage and instructions, and verify information with pharmacists for accuracy and compliance with regulations.

  • Inventory Management

    Monitor pharmaceutical inventory levels, reorder supplies as necessary, organize stock in storage areas, and identify and address potential shortages to maintain adequate supplies.

  • Customer Interaction

    Provide excellent customer service by answering inquiries, advising on medication use, both prescription and over-the-counter, and ensuring a professional and courteous patient experience.

  • Prescription Verification

    Assist pharmacists in reviewing prescriptions for errors, interacting with prescribers to confirm unclear orders, and ensuring all customer data is accurate and confidential.

  • Insurance Processing

    Input insurance information accurately into the system, troubleshoot rejected claims, communicate with insurance companies for necessary authorizations, and assist patients with insurance queries.

  • Regulatory Compliance

    Follow all relevant pharmacy operational rules and procedures, maintain accurate records for all dispensed medication, and adhere to legal, safety, and health guidelines diligently.

  • Equipment Maintenance

    Regularly inspect pharmacy equipment for functionality, perform routine cleaning and maintenance, and report any malfunctioning equipment to ensure a safe working environment.

Typical Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required
  • 1-2 years of experience in retail or hospital pharmacy preferred
