Role Overview

The HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency. This role significantly impacts the organization's operations by maintaining comfortable and safe indoor environments for both employees and customers. Working closely with the facilities management team and other technicians, the HVAC Technician plays a crucial role in preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to mitigate system failures and extend equipment lifespan.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • System Installation

    Install HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, furnaces, and boilers, ensuring all components are properly configured for optimal performance according to manufacturer guidelines.

  • Routine Maintenance

    Conduct regular maintenance checks on HVAC systems, cleaning and adjusting components, replacing worn parts as necessary to maintain system efficiency and extend equipment lifecycle.

  • Diagnose and Repair

    Identify, diagnose, and repair issues in HVAC systems using specialized equipment and techniques, ensuring minimal downtime and customer satisfaction with prompt, effective solutions.

  • System Upgrades

    Recommend and install system upgrades or enhancements to improve efficiency and performance, advising clients on cost-effective solutions that align with their budget and needs.

  • Regulatory Compliance

    Ensure all work adheres to local, state, and federal codes and regulations, including safety standards and environmental controls, maintaining compliance with industry best practices.

  • Customer Interaction

    Communicate effectively with clients to explain issues, repairs, and system usage, providing professional and courteous service to enhance customer satisfaction and trust in services.

  • Documentation and Reporting

    Maintain detailed records of installed equipment, performed maintenance, and repairs completed, providing reports to supervisors or clients as needed for transparency and accountability.

  • 3+ years of experience in HVAC installation and maintenance
  • Certification in HVAC or relevant technical training
  • Proficiency in electrical and mechanical systems
