Roles & Responsibilities

• Loading and Unloading

  Efficiently load and unload cargo using forklifts or manual lifting, ensuring all items are handled with care and correctly documented upon arrival or dispatch.

• Inventory Management

  Accurately track and maintain inventory systems by recording received and shipped items, ensuring accurate stock levels and reporting discrepancies promptly.

• Equipment Operation

  Operate dock equipment safely including forklifts and pallet jacks. Conduct routine checks and report any malfunctions immediately to maintain operational efficiency.

• Safety Compliance

  Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and report any potential hazards or incidents to supervisors.

• Coordination with Team

  Collaborate with logistics and shipping personnel to facilitate smooth operations, ensuring timelines are met and communication is clear and effective across departments.

• Order Verification

  Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation to ensure accuracy, including checking for damage, discrepancies, and adhering to quality control standards.

• Facility Maintenance

  Maintain cleanliness and organization of the loading dock and storage areas to ensure a safe working environment, including regular cleaning and organizing of equipment and materials.

Typical Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience in a physical labor role, preferably within a shipping or warehouse environment.

• Familiarity with safety regulations and practices related to dock and cargo operations.

• Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery; certification preferred.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with colleagues.
