The Counselor plays a critical role in providing support and guidance to individuals facing personal, social, or emotional challenges. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Client Assessment

    Conduct thorough assessments of clients to evaluate their mental, emotional, and behavioral health. Use standardized assessment tools and methods to gather accurate information.

  • Personalized Treatment Planning

    Develop individualized treatment plans based on clients’ specific needs. Set specific, measurable goals to track progress and achieve desired therapeutic outcomes.

  • Therapeutic Interventions

    Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions suitable for individual, group, or family sessions. Adapt methods to effectively address a variety of psychological issues.

  • Progress Evaluation

    Regularly evaluate clients’ progress towards therapeutic goals. Modify treatment plans as necessary to ensure continued growth and improvement based on client needs.

  • Crisis Intervention

    Provide immediate support and intervention in crisis situations to stabilize clients and minimize psychological harm. Collaborate with emergency services as required.

  • Documentation and Reporting

    Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions, treatment plans, progress, and any incidents. Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders as needed.

  • Professional Development

    Engage in continuous professional education and training to stay updated with the latest counseling practices and theories. Attend workshops and peer supervision sessions.

Typical Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
  • Valid state-issued counseling license (e.g., LPC, LCSW)
  • 2+ years of experience in individual or group counseling settings
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
