Role Overview

The Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions that enhance the organization’s digital infrastructure. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Design

    Create and implement cloud architecture solutions that align with business goals by assessing current infrastructure, analyzing requirements, and ensuring scalability and reliability.

  • System Migration

    Plan and execute the migration of on-premise applications and services to a cloud infrastructure, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance during and post-migration.

  • Security Management

    Implement cloud security policies and procedures, including data encryption and access controls, to protect sensitive information and comply with regulatory standards.

  • Performance Optimization

    Monitor and optimize cloud system performance by analyzing usage patterns, adjusting resources, and implementing enhancements to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

  • Cost Management

    Analyze and manage cloud computing costs by tracking utilization and identifying areas for cost savings, while ensuring resources align with organizational financial goals.

  • Disaster Recovery Planning

    Develop and implement robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring data integrity and system availability in case of an unplanned service disruption.

  • Collaboration and Communication

    Work with cross-functional teams to facilitate understanding and effective use of cloud solutions, providing training and technical support as needed to enhance capabilities.

Typical Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in cloud computing, specifically with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices and governance.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Proficient in at least one programming language, such as Python or Java.
