Budget Analyst

Roles & Responsibilities

• Budget Preparation

  Compile and analyze financial data to prepare, monitor, and adjust budgets. Ensure alignment with organizational objectives and compliance with regulations and policies.

• Financial Forecasting

  Conduct research and use financial modeling to predict future financial conditions and outcomes. Provide actionable insights for decision making and strategic planning.

• Variance Analysis

  Compare actual financial performance against budgeted figures. Identify and explain variances and assist departments in managing their budgetary performance effectively.

• Cost Control Analysis

  Monitor and evaluate financial activities for cost efficiency. Recommend corrective actions to improve cost management and achieve financial accountability and transparency.

• Reporting and Documentation

  Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for management, including monthly budget updates, financial statements, and tailored analyses for specific projects or departments.

• Stakeholder Collaboration

  Work closely with department heads and financial teams to ensure budget parameters are met. Provide training and support on budget-related systems and procedures.

• Policy Compliance

  Ensure all budgeting activities comply with relevant policies, standards, and regulations. Develop and maintain budget management policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.

Typical Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

• 2+ years of experience in budget analysis or financial planning

• Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools

• Strong communication skills for reporting findings and recommendations

• Experience with financial software and databases
