Safety Officer (First Aid & Emergency Preparedness)

The Safety Officer specializing in First Aid & Emergency Preparedness is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs within the organization. This role ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, conducts training sessions, and prepares the team for emergency situations. By promoting a culture of safety, the Safety Officer helps minimize risks and enhance employee well-being, fitting within a broader health and safety department alongside other specialists.

• •First Aid Program Management

  Develop and manage a comprehensive First Aid program, ensuring availability and maintenance of supplies, compliance with regulations, and accessibility throughout the workplace.

• •Emergency Response Planning

  Create and regularly update emergency response plans, conduct risk assessments, and coordinate with local emergency services to ensure quick and effective response to emergencies.

• •Training and Drills

  Organize and conduct professional training sessions and regular emergency drills to equip staff with the skills needed for effective first aid and emergency responses.

• •Incident Reporting and Analysis

  Implement efficient reporting mechanisms, analyze incidents for root causes, and document findings to improve safety processes and prevent future occurrences.

• •Regulatory Compliance Audits

  Conduct audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintain documentation, and report findings to management with recommendations for corrective actions.

• •Safety Equipment Inspection

  Perform regular inspections of safety and emergency equipment to guarantee functionality and readiness, documenting maintenance schedules and needs to ensure reliability.

• •Stakeholder Communication

  Facilitate communication between employees, management, and external stakeholders on safety policies, emergency preparedness, and first aid procedures to ensure alignment.

• •3+ years of experience in occupational health and safety or a related field
• •Certified in First Aid and CPR, with knowledge of Advanced First Aid and emergency response procedures
• •Experience conducting safety training and emergency drills for diverse teams
