Obstetrician / Gynecologist (OB/GYN)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Patient Consultations

  Conduct thorough consultations with patients to assess medical history, symptoms, and concerns related to obstetrics and gynecology, ensuring comprehensive understanding and diagnosis.

• Prenatal Care Management

  Provide expert prenatal care, including regular check-ups, ultrasounds, and monitoring fetal development to ensure maternal and infant health throughout the pregnancy.

• Gynecological Examinations

  Perform routine gynecological exams, such as pap smears and pelvic examinations, to diagnose conditions and administer appropriate treatments in line with best practices.

• Surgical Procedures

  Conduct surgical procedures, including cesarean sections, hysterectomies, and laparoscopies, adhering to medical guidelines to ensure patient safety and successful outcomes.

• Patient Education

  Provide comprehensive education to patients on reproductive health, contraception, prenatal care, and post-operative care to empower individuals with knowledge for informed decisions.

• Emergency Care

  Deliver immediate medical attention in obstetric emergencies, using critical decision-making skills to manage situations such as preterm labor or ectopic pregnancies effectively.

• Collaboration with Healthcare Teams

  Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans, ensuring a holistic approach to addressing patient needs and complexities.

Typical Required Skills and Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited institution

• Completion of residency in obstetrics and gynecology

• Board certification in OB/GYN

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• 3+ years of clinical experience in a hospital or private practice setting
